America sweeps Woman's Podium

Half Pipe.jpg

Europe's oldest snowboard contest, the Champs Leysin had a cloudy start during the semi finals. But for the finals the unique slopestyle parcours waited for the best 6 women with perfect conditions.

This 5 Star World Snowboard Tour contest combines two Olympic formats in one course. In addition to the classic slopestyle parts the riders had to face a half pipe. This unparalleled combination of two Olympic formats was special for the riders and the thrilled spectators too.

Slopestyle will be a part of the Olympic Games Program 2014 in Sochi for the first time and the riders showed impressively how much it means to compete there. They knew how to convince the jury with tricks like double backflips and Switch Backside Double Cork 1080.

At the Women's final the US-Americans dominated the competition and sweep the podium. The 16 year old Ty Walker won and Jordie Karlinski finished 2nd followed by Phoebe Novello.
