Clubs headed to Denver for USATF National Club Marathon Relay Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - The fourth edition of the USATF National Club Marathon Relay Championships will be hosted for the second consecutive year by the Post-News Colorado Colfax Marathon in Denver, Colorado, on Sunday. With $30,000 in prize money at stake, clubs will be competing for national titles as well as unprecedented prize money for a club competition.

Clubs from Colorado, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are entered, including the men's defending champion club, The Boulder Distance Project (formerly Boulder Express "BX"). The marathon relay event is the first of three club championship events in the 2007 USATF Club Championship Series.

The women's race will feature three of the top-five teams from 2006. Runner-up Rocky Mountain Distance Team (Colo.), Team Nebraska Brooks and Fleet Feet - Brooks (Ky.) will return to Denver in search of the national team title. As on the men's side, the women from the Wisconsin Runner Racing Team will be a strong contender for the title.

In addition to the club marathon relay championship, the 2007 USATF Club Championships series will feature the USATF National Club Track & Field Championships to be held at the famed Ichan Stadium in New York City July 13-14; and the USATF National Club Cross Country Championships at Voice of America Park in West Chester, Ohio on December 8.
