Freestyle Windsurfing: Sarah Quita Offringa secures her 11th world title

Sarah-Quita Offringa Sarah-Quita Offringa has a very special connection to the island of Fuerteventura. When she was only 14 years old (2006) the girl from the Caribbean competed for the first time at the beach of Sotavento. Already back then she was declared a really big windsurfing talent and the experts were right. In her first year of competing at the PWA World Championship Tour she ended the season on second rank.

It took only two more years (2008) until she won her first world title in the freestyle discipline- also at the beach of Sotavento. Since then there have only been a few heats that she was not able to win. For a long time Sarah-Quita surfed on a higher level than the rest of the female windsurfers and had the reputation of being unbeatable. Only during the past three years other windsurfing girls managed to catch up and reach a similar level.

And Sarah-Quita doesn’t only surf on a world class level in the freestyle discipline. The all-round talent also competes in the disciplines wave and slalom. In the slalom discipline it din’t take long until she reached the top seedings either and won three world titles as well. Offringa is also getting better and better in the wave but so far can’t get past the Moreno twins Dada and Iballa from Gran Canaria- but that also seems only a question of time.
