Hellendoorn Triumph Marks Seven-Year Joy For Elise
The toil of seven years of competitive action on the WISPA World Tour finally bore fruit for Elise Ng when the 26-year-old from Hong Kong won her maiden Tour title at the Spaworld Hellendoorn Squash Open in the Netherlands town of Hellendoorn.
A WISPA member since 2000, it was only two months ago that Ng made her first Tour final, at the Des Pyramides Open in France.
After beating local qualifier Melissa Meulenbelt in the first round, it took victories over a trio of English opponents for second seed Elise to celebrate her historic success.
She clinched the title after beating third seed Georgina Stoker, from Merseyside, 9-3, 7-9, 9-4, 9-4 in the final.
