World Cup overall leader Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) remains 54 points ahead of Austrian Nicole Hosp, the same margin she held going into the weekend, as storms forced organizers to scrap both the slalom and giant slalom races scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Zwiesel. Two Canadians cracked the top 10 as the Ladies downhill events were held at the World Junior Alpine Ski Championships today in Formigal, SPA.

Alice McKennis (18; Glenwood Springs, CO; Rowmark Ski Academy) turned in the top U.S. performance Saturday, finishing 19th in super G as the 2007 FIS Alpine Junior World Championships opened in unseasonable 40-degree weather and soft snow.

Larisa Yurkiw (Owen Sound, ON) opened the FIS World Junior Alpine Ski Championships in Formigal, SPA today by finishing the Ladies super G as the top Canadian in 10th place.
