Kiteboarding World Cup Gran Canaria: 14-year old talent Mikaili Sol wins

 Mikaili Sol (BRA) wins the GKA Freestyle World Cup in Gran Canaria. 2nd and 3rd ranks go to Bruna Kajiya (BRA) and Pippa van Iersel (NED).

The freestylers, who are firmly connected to the board via a binding, are evaluated by judges. The extremely fast spinning tricks have names like "Heart Attack", "KGB" or "S-Bend". The four-time Junior World Champion Mikaili Sol from Brazil had heart attacks and KGB's particularly well under control.

The 14-year-old exceptional talent beat triple World Champion Bruna Kajiya in a close final. 32-year-old Kajiya also comes from Brazil and competed in Gran Canaria for the first time after a six-month injury break.

Mikaili also takes the lead in the world rankings with her victory On third place the 19-year-old Pippa van Iersel from the Netherlands was able to win very narrowly, with only 0.37 points ahead of Rita Arnaus from Spain.
