Caroline Fisher, a twenty-four year-old senior female competitor, has been added to the Great Britain Taekwondo Team, which will compete at the 2007 WTF World Taekwondo Championships in Beijing. The tournament, running from 18th-22nd May, is the biggest in world taekwondo outside of the Olympics and runs on alternate years with the Great Britain squad fully focused on putting in a first-rate performance.
Fisher, of the Scorpion Taekwondo Club in Doncaster, is a previous Junior European medallist and will look to put in a strong showing in Beijing ahead of the Olympic qualification taking place in Manchester later this year.
Gary Hall, Performance Director for the BTCB Sport Taekwondo UK Ltd, commented: “I am happy to announce Caroline Fisher will join up with the Great Britain team ahead of next weekend’s World Championships in Beijing. Caroline will be a valuable addition to the team and the coaching staff and I wish her every success in her pursuit of a medal.”
