ROUND 12
GIANTS Netball v Sunshine Coast Lightning
  • Sunshine Coast have locked themselves into the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball Finals Series, but the GIANTS are sitting right on the border in 4th place so they will be hungry for a win to lock in their ladder position as the home and away season nears the end.
  • When these two teams faced off in Round 5, Lightning won by 11 goals (72 to 61).
  • Neither team has lost a game since returning from the Netball World Cup and the Lightning are currently on a five-game winning streak, putting them just three-premiership points behind the top of the table Swifts.
NSW Swifts v Melbourne Vixens
  • With both teams fully qualified for finals, the result of this match will play a critical role in determining final ladder positions at the end of the home and away season. The Swifts currently sit on top and the Vixens are sitting third.
  • The last time these two teams played in Round 5, the Swifts claimed victory by 10 goals, giving the Vixens their first of two losses for the season.
  • The Vixens have bolstered their team for the run into finals with the return of Mwai Kumwenda last week after a year on the sidelines with an ACL injury.
Queensland Firebirds v Adelaide Thunderbirds
  • The Firebirds still remain win-less for the season and with the Thunderbirds sitting just above them on the ladder with two wins, they'll be doing everything in their power to make sure this match puts their first win on the board.
  • When these teams met in Round 5, the Thunderbirds had their second win for the season, winning 54 to 51. They haven't had a win since.
  • Both teams are now fully ruled out of making finals.

West Coast Fever v Collingwood Magpies
  • While Fever are unable to qualify for finals, Magpies still have a very slim chance so a win over in Perth is a must if they are to keep any chance of finals alive.
  • Magpies' Nat Medhurst will face off against her old team to even the record for the most national league netball games played.
  • The Fever defeated the Magpies by only two goals (63 to 61) when the two teams met in Round 5.
