[2] Rebecca Chiu (HKG) bt [8] Louise Crome (NZL) 9-1, 5-9, 4-9, 10-8, 9-4

 

Teran Takes Out Lloyd-Walter In Texas

 

Fifth seed Samantha Teran pulled off a notable upset in the quarter-finals of the Women's Texas Open Squash Championship in Dallas when she upset England's third seed Dominique Lloyd-Walter in straight games in the WISPA Silver event in its sixth year in the US state of Texas.

 

The Mexican despatched Lloyd-Walter, the world No20, 9-7, 9-0, 9-3 and will now face Rebecca Chiu for a place in the final.  The second seed from Hong Kong was taken the full distance by No8 seed Louise Crome before beating the New Zealander 9-1, 5-9, 4-9, 10-8, 9-4.

 

Top seed Natalie Grainger faces New Zealand's No4 seed Jaclyn Hawkes in the other semi-final after both players secured straightforward wins in their quarter-final matches.
