Great Britain sent an extremely strong squad of senior gymnasts to the recent Acrobatic World Cup in Maia, Portugal. The gymnasts came home with two titles, two silvers and one bronze.

In the women’s group category, 2013 European silver medallists Millie Spalding, Elise Matthews and Georgia Lancaster proved they are the ones to beat this year by taking the gold with 28.440. The group were followed by first year seniors and their GB teammates Jennifer Bailey, Cicely Irwin and Josie Russell in silver with 27.795.

In the men’s group section, first year senior gymnasts Connor Bartlett, Daniel Cook, Gareth Wood and George Wood stepped up, producing an incredible performance that scored 29.200 and secured them the gold medal.

In the mixed pair category both GB partnerships looked very strong with current European Champions Dominic Smith and Alice Upcott taking home silver with 29.880 and Chris Rogers and Eleanor Franks bronze with 28.800.
