Fans on the Sunday included Tony Adams – the former Arsenal and England international and Assistant Manager of Portsmouth Football Club – who missed Pompey’s FA Cup victory parade to turn up in Nottingham to watch his daughter Amber play at the YAZOO National Youth Hockey Festival. It has been a victorious weekend for the Adams family as first Tony helped lead his side to FA Cup victory yesterday, and today, Amber, wearing the number 6 shirt just as her father did for Arsenal, helped her school Millfield win the U13 National Mini Hockey Championship Finals.
The FA Cup winning Assistant Manager said that the Festival was “Fantastically run and very enjoyable”. When asked about the profile of his daughter’s chosen sport in comparison to his own game of football, Adams said “The Olympics will be very important to raise the profile for hockey”.
