First impressions a great looking trainer. I have always been an Asics fan having played netball for many years I always choose a netball shoe from their range. This time we get to try out another trainer. The Novablast 2 a thick layer of Asics's new FlyteFoam Blast packs a bouncy, energetic ride. A tall, FlyteFoam Blast midsole makes the NovaBlast the softest and most responsive Asics shoe we've tried so far and with flat feet I need a chunky heel when I play sport to support my ankle. The worst thing about playing netball for me is the ankle rolling my ankles have been damaged with stretched ligaments for many years so the most important thing for me has to be suppoort. I actually tried the trainer out first on a long walk on the coast of paignton with my partner. A great way to see how the trainers holds up for the first time and I was very pleased with it a daily or long distance trainer. I usually wear two pairs of socks with my trainers for extra support for my ankles but they felt good with one when I initially tried them on so I went with it.

I didn't try out the original Novablasts so I can't compare but reading the reviews the Novablast 2 sounds much better.
Novablast 2 has been fine-tuned in all the right way I believe. If you had some reservations about the first version, you can forget them. If you loved the first version, your relationship should progress smoothly into the “things are getting serious” phase. Translated: this shoe is gonna be a hit.
Getting back on the court after the Xmas period was a joy and playing in the new Novablasts was an even better one. Everyone commented on the new Asics the trainer of choice for most of the teams. When I told them the price around £130 I wouldn't imagine many would purchase it is quite pricey for your average pair of trainers. 
the Novablast 2 has a lower stack (8 mm),the original was 10 mm a slightly segmented dual layer of Blast in the heel instead of one solid piece, a more moderate midfoot arch, and TPU structure in the heel counter. All these combine to make it a much more stable ride and my ankles love it.
Asics lover
Good news OG Novablast lovers, updates to the V2 are all pretty great. The upper has been redesigned and now features a two-layer jacquard (another word for ‘woven fabric’, but makes you sound way smarter) mesh and comes with a gusseted tongue. The shiny round laces have been replaced with flat, soft laces and there’s a TPU overlay near the heel to increase stability. In general, the fit and ride feels more secure and stable than its predecessor.
Beneath the foot a few things have changed as well. There’s some additional foam in the forefoot (+2 mm) making it an 8 mm drop. According to ASICS (they don’t include outsole/sockliner) the women’s stack comes in at 29 mm in the heel and 21 mm in the forefoot – plenty of that bouncy FlyteFoam Blast. There’s some very minimal changes to the rubber placement on the outsole as well, but nothing that I noticed out on the run. It’s durable, bouncy and has some decent traction. Very pleased
The Novablast 2 shoes is a great way to meet your training goals while moving towards a clear mindset. For the second version of this series, ASICS wanted to create a smoother and more responsive feel underfoot. The TPU heel stabiliser is designed to improve support while producing a smoother stride. The double engineered jacquard mesh upper is designed to wrap the foot like a second skin. The engineered mesh has a perforated construction that allows air to fully permeate the entire upper, letting your feet breathe when the temperature starts to rise or your training session heats up. As well as radical ventilation, the double-layer construction delivers a premium fit that improves flexibility and decreases irritation-causing wrinkles (because we know how rubbing and blisters can ruin your day) while maintaining its lightweight. A gusseted tongue wing fit system offers an improved midfoot fit whilst reducing sliding of the tongue. A lacing system increases midfoot support to ensure a dynamic fit for all-day comfort.
The Novablast 2 running shoe's energetic underfoot ride comes from its one-piece FlyteFoam Blast midsole. This new foam is softer and bouncier, providing a great feel from footstrike to toe-off. The soft and energetic nature of the midsole increases the underfoot softness, almost enveloping the foot in a plush, supportive wrap. The midsole of the Novablast 2 is made up of multiple compounds to bring you a cushioned and explosive ride from stepping out to stepping in. FlyteFoam Blast is the main cushioning compound used the Novablast because of its lightweight foam formulation and high energy return. Its lightweight foam construction reduces drag allowing you to run faster for longer whilst the elastomer creates a high energy return for increased bounce and unrivalled toe-offs. Resilient and innovative, FlyteFoam Blast technology lets you run with the feeling that your feet aren't even touching the ground. FlyteFoam is the lightest cushioning material ASICS has ever made, 55% lighter than the industry standard, EVA and it buffers against the ground to protect you from unnecessary stress and fatigue. Its reinforced, organic fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every run, so you can train harder, more frequently, for longer without the worry your shoes might not be able to take it. An AHAR Rubber Outsole provides twice the abrasion resistance of the traditional outsole rubber, for improved durability without sacrificing properties like traction. Gorgeous top from Asics, the material is so light and airy it's wonderful for working out in the gym. It doesn't get hot and sweaty it dries very fast. I just loved it.
