The final tournament line-up was confirmed on Sunday after New Zealand won the BDO Champions Challenge I event in Cape Town and tickets for the nine day event, being held at Highfields Sports Club in July, go on sale to the public today.

Hosted by England Hockey on behalf of the International Hockey Federation with the support of UK Sport, East Midlands Development Agency, Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and venue hosts Highfields Sports Club, the Champions Trophy is the biggest hockey event staged in England since the 2007 EuroHockey Nations Championships were held in Manchester and nearly 30000 spectators are expected to see the world’s top hockey playing nations in Nottingham from 10-18 July 2010.

Tickets went on sale at 10:00am this morning via the tournament website at www.wct2010.com/tickets with day ticket prices starting at just £12.50 for adults and £7.50 for concessions.

Speaking as the tickets went on public sale, England Hockey Chief Executive Sally Munday said: “We’re really pleased that we have been able to make tickets available to the Hockey Family and to the public some eight months before the tournament.

“With the top teams in the world taking part the Champions Trophy will certainly be a fantastic sporting occasion.  Equally, we are looking forward to the Men’s Four Nations Tournament; it will be exciting for spectators to see not only Germany, who are current world and Olympic champions, but also the teams from Japan and New Zealand, whose styles of play are quite different to our own.”

Tickets are currently on sale via the www.wct2010.com website only but will also be available for telephone booking shortly.
