ENGLAND WOMEN WILL HOST NORWAY AT SHEFFIELD UNITED'S BRAMALL LANE IN EARLY DECEMBER

England Women have confirmed a home match against Norway in December, completing a 2020 fixture schedule which sees the Lionesses pit themselves against top tier opposition.

To round off the calendar year, the Lionesses will head to Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane to face Norway on Tuesday 1 December.

It will be the two nations’ third meeting in 18 months. The last occasion was the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup quarter-final at Le Harve’s Stade Oceané, with England sealing a 3-0 victory to progress to the semi-finals before they suffered a 2-1 defeat more recently in September 2019.

Later this month England head out to Wiesbaden, Germany where they face the two-time World Cup winners.

Head coach Phil Neville said: “Today’s announcement completes our 2020 fixture schedule and I’m delighted with the strength of opposition we will be testing ourselves against.

Phil Neville will get together with his squad again in October ahead of a game with Germany

“Our last camp in September was a chance for a number of younger players to integrate with the senior squad and show their potential to be part of England’s exciting journey over the coming years. It was also an opportunity to regroup and assess where players were following the long lay-off since the SheBelieves Cup.

“The remainder of the year will be all about pitting ourselves against top quality opposition so that we have a good measure of where we are at in terms of our development and progression.

“As we rebuild and reshape our squad, we need to consistently challenge ourselves against some of the world’s strongest teams to gauge our strengths and weaknesses and plot the work that’s needed between now and our next major tournament in order to be ready to win.”

The Lionesses continue their preparation towards the delayed home UEFA Women’s EURO in 2022, with Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane one of the tournament venues.

Both fixtures will be available to watch on BBC channels with the full broadcast schedule below.
