Lausanne, June 7, 2007 – The fourth race of the 2007 FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup will take place in Sevilla (ESP) next Saturday on June 9 with a record number of participants: 114 swimmers (60 men and 54 women) from 29 countries - ARG, AUS, BEL, BRA, BUL, CAN, CRO, CZE, EGY, ESP, FRA, GBR, GER, GHA, GRE, HUN, ISR, ITA, NED, MEX, PLE, POR, RSA, RUS, SLO, SUI, SYR, USA, VEN.
In the women’s race, Angela Maurer (GER) will try to reinforce her first place in the general standings against other favourites such as Trudee Hutchinson and Kate Brookes Peterson (AUS), Cassandra Patten (GBR), Ekaterina Seliverstova (RUS), Esther Nunez (ESP), Rita Kovac (HUN), Laura Volpi (ITA).
For the Spanish organisers, this day of competition will be a perfect test for the next FINA World Open Water Swimming Championships which will take place on May 3-8, 2008 in the capital of Andalusia.
