Malawi is celebrating a major GC2018 upset after registering the nation's first ever win against New Zealand.
The Malawi Queens' 57-53 victory at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre was their first success against two-time Commonwealth champion New Zealand in 10 attempts.
Trailing by seven goals at halftime, the Malawi team set up their famous victory with a 17-9 third quarter.
The result puts New Zealand at risk of failing to make the semi-finals.
"We have beaten the untouchables," said coach Whyte Mulilima.
