Szekszard overturn Game 1 deficit, Carolo and Venezia ease through

WROCLAW (EuroCup Women) - KSC Szekszard bounced back from last week’s home loss as they powered to victory over Sleza Wroclaw to reach the Round of 8 stage.

Carolo Basket and Reyer Venezia also advanced as they followed convincing Game 1 victories to move into the next round.

Szekszard recorded a 74-84 road victory to secure an overall 156-149 triumph with double-doubles for Teja Oblak and Sara Krnjic.

Reka Balint netted a team-high 17 points, while Oblak handed out 11 assists to go with 16 points and Krnjic put up 14 points and 11 boards.

After edging a high-scoring opening period, the visitors' lead on the night was cut to a single point ahead of the fourth quarter. However, a strong finish secured a comfortable win, enough to ensure progression.

Elsewhere, Carolo Basket cruised to an 84-47 victory over Artego Bydgoszcz to advance with a 167-109 success. 

Clarissa Dos Santos led the way with 16 points and 12 rebounds, with Valeriya Berezhynska also netting 16 points in the convincing home win.

Reyer Venezia also maintained their unbeaten run in the competition as they brushed aside Saint-Amand 88-55 to wrap up a commanding 175-113 victory.

The home side dominated the early stages, leading 23-8 after 10 minutes and never looked back with Debora Carangelo top scoring with 17 points.

The remaining five Round of 16 games take place tomorrow.
