The goalkeepers were the dominating in the first leg between Viborg HK and Győr. Katalin Palinger from the Hungarian champions and Norwegian international Katrine Lund Haraldsen from the Danish champions both performed a series of miracles in their goals and quite deservedly, they were both awarded with the best player titles after the match. photo EHF

RUISLIP Eagles are just one win away from the Women’s English Cup final after a strong performance against Cambridge at Leyton SCORE Centre in London on Sunday. The 29-9 victory means they will face Manchester University in their next game, with a spot in the final at stake.

The Final fixtures of the 2008/09 Womens European Cups have been set.

Hypo started the game with an open defence and with goals from their Hungarian players. The quick Hypo attacks were impossible to stop at the beginning and the Austrian team proved how well their players know each other on the court.

Referee and delegate nominations for the semi-final phase of the 2008/2009 Womens European Cup competitions. The matches will be played over two consecutive weekends in venues across Europe.

A triple draw event took place in the EHF Headquarters, Vienna, on Tuesday, 24 March 2009 at 11hrs. Qualification for the 2010 Championships is held tomorrow in Vienna Austria. A total of 16 teams will take part in the final tourmament.

RUISLIP Eagles and Great Dane ladies look set to take this year’s English Women’s League title to the last game of the season, with both securing victories last weekend.

MEMBERS of the Great Britain Women’s Handball Team have travelled from across Europe to attend their latest training camp in Norway this week, as preparations for the European Championship begin. A total of 19 players are at the camp in Asker, where seven of the squad are normally based.

The Qualification for the 2009 Womens 17 European Championship took place over the weekend.

Hypo Niederösterreich qualified for the semi-finals and Viborg are only a step behind in Group A. Both favourites won their away matches over the weekend.

The television results of the 2008 Women’s European Handball Championship, which took place in FYR Macedonia (Skopje / Ohrid) from 2 – 14 December 2008, have just been published by Infront Sports & Media, the exclusive marketing partner of the EHF EURO.

The women’s European handball season is rapidly approaching the final stages. The draw for the Champions League semi-final matches and round 6 of the European Cup will take place on the 24th March at the EHF Headquarters in Vienna. Parallel to this, the qualification matches for the Women’s Euro 2010 (DEN/NOR), that will be played between September 2009 and May 2010, will also be drawn.

The body was called together following the direct disqualification of Renate Urne in the last seconds (59:57) of the Womens EHF Cup second leg match between HC Leipzig/ GER and HCM Baia Mare/ ROU.

Referee and delegate nominations for the quarterfinal matches of the Womens EHF Cup, Challenge Cup and Cupwinners Cup. The matches will take place on March 14/15 (first leg) and March 21/22 (second leg).

The Womens EHF EURO 2010 Qualification Draw will be carried out on 24 March 2009 in Vienna.
