Omara Durand of Cuba, the fastest female Paralympian of all time, won the final of the 200m on the morning of Monday (12 September) to complete a golden sprint double in the Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Running in lane five, Durand led the field from the start and finished in a time of 23.05, just outside the world record time of 23.03 she set when winning the world championship in Doha last year.
Ukraine’s Oxana Boturchuk won silver with a time of 23.65, with Azerbaijan’s Elena Chebanu third in 23.80
