X Factor star Laura White set to wow crowds at European Badminton Championships

 

Spectators at the 2009 European Team Badminton Championships, which take place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, can prepare themselves for a fantastic musical interlude during the event finals on Sunday 15th February. X Factor sensation Laura White is set to perform a terrific set in front of her local fans in advance of the hotly anticipated ‘X Factor Tour Live 2009’ and will be joined by Liverpool favourites ‘The Cavern Beatles’.

 

The show, compered by Mr Stretch and Mr Amstrong, is set to run between 1.05pm – 1.50pm. The caricature 80s PE teacher duet are firm but fair in their mission of getting the nation fit in advance of London 2012 and an audience participation ‘School Day’ is sure to get the crowd out of their seats during the break in play!

 

The Cavern Beatles have been touring the UK for the past 2 years and as Liverpool born and bred musicians, will look forward to rocking their home crowd at the Echo arena.

 

BADMINTON England Tournament Director, Darren Parks said, ‘The European Badminton Championships will be a showcase of the best players from across the country and it is only fitting that this is complimented by a great half time show. We are looking forward to what promises to be an exciting interval and hope that it is enjoyed by all attending badminton fans.’

Gabby White                   (Yorkshire, age 18, 4 caps)


Team England will play their Group 8 matches against Czech Republic, Wales and Scotland at the Liverpool Echo Arena at 6pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively. As second seeds in the tournament, England will be expected to progress to the knockout quarter-final stage on Friday. England were runners-up to Denmark in Herning last year.
